3-D TV's

I'm still focused on setting everything up. Question I'd like to pose though: are there truly any 3-D televisions out there that are worth purchasing? Sony Bravia models excluded, that is.

  22. I would say no. Not yet at least. In 3 years there will be bigger, thinner and cheaper 3D tvs. I'm waiting for a concave monitor with holographic 3D. Now that would be a 3d tv.

  42. I don't think there's anything out there worth buying yet, unless you have some super-specific need that only 3DTV can fill.

That being said, all widespread technology starts off as a toy for the rich (think cars in the 1910s or cell phones in the 1980s) -- if you're an early adopter, you help everyone else out 20 years from now but... you're still stuck with a Model T or an 80s cell-brick :)

  45. I dunno, 3D tv sounds weird to me. I go out of my way to avoid 3D movies because they give me a headache, so why would I pay for a personal headache making machine?
